Courage

What is courage?

Courage is not just brandishing
a sword and going into battle,
or standing up for what is right
even when you stand alone.

Courage is being able
to watch the one you love
hold the hand of another.

It's loving life
and finding the good in it
even when nobody else can.

Or when your friend whom you love
suddenly hates you and you don't know why
and you still love them the same amount.

It is having your mom die
and your state how you feel
for the whole world to know.

That is what courage is.
