New year begun again & last is lost

Dawn mist grabs and clings
pulled tighter around arms
I gave in singing, you can
pull another blanket round
me, where I was cold again
this is how it always ends
with my new year beginning

I lie on a blanket of leaves
must I let myself feel alone
after everyone remembered me
then left back to how it was
I would rather a little year
round than all for one night
you stay far away by my side

Light a candle for me any night
O remember me whenever you like
for am always here content glad
when you can still make it more
you know am happy this is where
I want to be, here only not let
it make me leave you forgotten.
