A YEARNING FOR ADVENTURE

Aboard the ship I will stow,
the sailors they all wish to know,
from whence I came as I move below,
and whencesoever I care to go.
"Across the sea I wish to flee,
with silver sails guiding me,
to feel the wind, to be free,
this I think is ecstasy.
I care not where my vessel travels,
adventure, mystery then unravels,
when seas are rough,
and times are tough,
I'll hold on steadfast,
till my bodies had enough.
I come from a place,
that I hold dear,
my parents will miss me,
of this I fear,
I'd like to see the wonders of Kashmir,
of this I feel is very clear.
At some unknown and unspecified time,
I'll write a poem with rhythm amd rhyme,
of cobbled streets and people I meet,
the market place is a real treat.
And if by chance I meet you there,
we'll take the sites without a care,
before I take my leave once more,
to sail away to another shore."
