I
The skyline shivers;
a flash of wings
stretching for miles.
Wrapping...
around azure light.
Like a kaleidoscope image;
splintering the horizon
into phosphorescent colour.

II
Your silhouette’s
anchored…
to the shade.
The sun behind;
snapped out
a candle after prayer…
For a moment
shining...
like a Chinese lantern;
incandescent hope.

III
You’re the light
that leaves
my body behind.
Stripped back to its skeleton;
a veined wing
lifting….
free.
Whilst I sink…
into bone-white sheets.

IV
There is light
which never fades;
an Angel-
glowing in the back of your neck.
There is darkness,
which silently stirs.
Longing to break free,
like a moth;
searching for the shine
on your body.

V
Your bodies harboured
to the passing light,
shining..
its auburn glow.
Warning…
the tides are changing.
Glowing like a ring-worm
washed up on a beach;
or a marital ring,
curled in denial.

You do it very well with the light and the shadow Beeme another beautiful poem from your hand- there is a lot of gentility. if you can say that- well what I mean is that most of your poems come off as very gentle behind all the darkness and shadow. ;)Pia

Beeme, these are just stunning. All are simply gorgeous, but II and IV are my faves -definitely agree with Pia about the gentility you weave into your poetry, they're like little individual wisps of beauty and such a joy to read :) Well done on the cherries, I really love these, Rachel xx

liked 111 the best :) - delicate, reckon you can lose the 1st semi-c there after leaves -thought it works lovely with just the line break to do it. Lovely theme, like your images, and together there's story -didnt get plural bodies there at end -will read again now -enjoyed!

This is a great poem. I am sure plenty would want to read it, but as to selling there's the rub ! As far as I know even the best poetry doesn't sell much.
