My thoughts are far away flung
as the horizon burning silver
in the morning sun
flickering on top within
the ever moving ocean waves
dry as the sun my skin my bones
parched the sand that rubs
makes sore my white skin toes
and there along the road
among the Beirut blocks
you stood absurdly jutting
skywards upwards touching clouds
against an ancient mountain backdrop
and as the sun rose you awoke
and as it set you seemed to sleep
as I am left to wonder and look again again
at your alien shape your huge green leaves
and yes my thoughts are far away flung
right to the top of these tall palm trees.
