The day's summer shadows
guide my fortuitous way;
sunbeams sparkle
like a million jewels,
leaving me in touch
with nature at its best;
it all seems dreamy,
when through a glade,
concealed by tall grasses,
threads of gossamer
hide rainbow colours.
Then, hidden from view,
I spy a golden lake;
a magic shimmer
of ripples,
as silent whispers
of a gentle breeze
take my breath away;
I wish to linger long.

You take me there, and make it so vivid, and delightful. Thank you! Rhiannon (linger long' is a nice bit of alliteration!)

Hello Jenny,
Yes, a beautifully written poem that paints an idyllic picture of tranquillity. Reading your words I found I was transported and for the time spent reading this I was there enjoying the hazy sunshine and viewing the scene as if through a gossamer curtain.
Wonderfully descriptive.
