Forgive Me?

Did I say I'm sorry,did I tell you that you're right
Or did I just stand there, spoiling for a fight
Did I say forgive me, did I utter those fine words
Or did I just mumble and say something quite absurd
Did I say I love you,did I say how much I care
Or did I just fold my arms and give you a hard stare
Did I say I love your smile, did I say you light my day
Or did I say the opposite and pretend to walk away
I should have said all these things, I know the words you crave
Instead I live regretting things while I'm visiting your grave.

What a lovely piece of work - I really like the sentiment. A poem that delivers just what it intends, I think.
