Desperately clinging on, as others cry
Waiting to say their last goodbye
Powerless to think another thought
Surrounded by flowers strangers bought
Lifeless body, no more pain
No more questions,no more blame
Almost there now at the gate
Peoples regrets are much too late
Then she's gone, one last big sigh
No longer clinging on, as others cry.

Hello Edenfalls, I liked
Hello Edenfalls,
I liked this poem very much indeed. I particularly liked the way the poem was encased by the lines
"Desperately..." and "No longer..."
I also like how accessible this poem is.
Much enjoyed.

Very nice Edenfalls, reality-sad, ingredients so common in our lives today. Well done. Richard LP

Surrounded by flowers

This suggests to me an RTA. The son of some friends of mine was killed suddenly on his motorbike a few weeks ago, so this one made me think of him and their family.
Lovely poem.
