Homeless Girl

Will no one come to save this child
Who’s fallen from Gods grace
Will no one come to cuddle her
Wipe dirt from off her face

Will no one spare a moment’s thought
And ask her why she’s here
Will no one look deep in her eyes
To see they're full of fear

Will no one see the once bright star
That flickered clear and bright
Will no one scoop her in their arms
Give shelter on this night.

Will no one take just one second
To look beyond the dirt
Will no one see this lonely girl
Who’s frightened, scared and hurt.

Will no one notice burn marks
On her arms and legs and feet
Will no one see the blackened eye
That someone liked to beat

Will no one ask the question why
She had to run away
Or do we simply just pretend
It has to be this way.
