Oh, Barack Obama;
black knight in bright armour
with the sword of the light in your hand.

Romney comes to joust you,
hoping that he’ll oust you
and bring back a dark age to the land.

God willing, you’ll beat him;
and,from his horse, unseat him;
strike a blow that wounds him fatally.

Raise your star-spangled shield
and fight on till he yields
for the love of 'The Land of the Free'.

Nice poem WW, here's hoping! Although if he wins he will again be rendered impotent as the Republicans vehemently oppose him and sabotage any kind of change he tries to implement, whether it is for the benefit of the people or not. Although I don't have the best grasp of American politics, so what I just said might be a load of bull, haha ;)

Thanks, ISD and Verdana. I'm not American, so it only effects me indirectly but I'm happy for lots of reasons. It's not ideal, I know but I'm happy that Romney didn't win; I'm happy that Obama the symbol of equality and progress won; I'm happy that the candidate who seemed to care more about the ordinary American people won; I'm happy that a democratic diplomat rather than a republican warmonger won and I'm happy that the American people made an intelligent choice. I'm also a fan of Frank Capra movies and Obama is like a Frank Capra hero come to life. It's all good, as the Americans say.

I agree WW, but I worry that another four years of republicans in the house of representatives blocking everything he tries to do will try the patience of the American people, especially those who don't understand the reasons behind Obama's inability to be the president he said he was going to be, an inability which rests largely, but not exclusively, on the shoulders of the republican party. He did get caught up in his own hype for a bit, which also hurt him. I just hope that the unsteadiness of the four years preceding his second term are behind him and he can affect some real proactive change.
