My life has come full circle
I’m now my father’s son
What was once old is new again
The years are yet to come.
I look into the mirror
Grey hair is what I see
Just like a child from years ago
I sit upon Dad’s knee
His smile is so electric
It stands my hair on end
Not only is he mentor
He’s also my best friend.
I’m travelling through time now
Back when my life was new
Mum and Dad are there for me
Slapping life from blue
I gasp and take my first breath
My life now at it’s start
No chance for strange reflections
No chance for cupid's dart
If only they had taught me
That life was just a game
I would have played as left back
Left back without a blame.

I very much enjoyed this poem. A good rhythm helps it to flow brilliantly, keeping the readers attention from start to finish. I love how you end the piece talking about birth, despite the theme of old age. A very nice touch that helps create a feeling of time passing, which I believe is key here.
Very well done!

Very nice. I enjoyed the line "slapping life from blue". Literally slapping life into breathing. Cool.
This poem is clear and very easy to understand. The only thing that I'm not sure of is the last line. (and this is not a critique, I just want to understand it better)"I would have played as left back, Left back without a blame" I just want to understand what you mean by left back. Do you mean the football position?
Either way, solid piece. Look forward to reading more.
