Don't be sad on Christmas Day

Choose a special one from all the Christmas trees
Put pepper in the porridge
And see Grandpa sneeze
The elves are up early
And as busy as bees
The ribbons are curly
On all the presents, please
They’re all wrapped in sparkly gold paper
For Santa’s elves it’s all a caper
Little boys and girls believe it’s true
Don’t disappoint them
Then they’d be blue
Lights on the tree
It’s like fairyland
Tinsel and baubles
We do what we can
Perhaps a dance around the tree
Carols we sing on the count of three
A hearty meal together we share
We’re all gathered for each other to care
When it’s all over
And we’ve got our toys
Even the grown-ups
Act like little girls and boys
Don’t feel alone on Christmas day
Don’t be sad and hear what I say
Listen to me and don’t be blue
“know that we are loving you”
