Breathing you in,
filled, as you are,
with the sweet, sweet
smell of desire
be it in bud
in bloom
or blazing,
is the feeling
of existing
in the mist – rolls
in from the sea...
the scent of your skin
is the absence
of doubt
and darkness;
a lack of all
condescension.
To drink you in
teaches the heart
to skip and the soul
to rise,
as kiss by kiss,
I cover
your petit infinity
torn between
earth, the planets
and the stars –
your valleys
and your rifts
your rivers
and your hills
to lie on the cushion
of your thighs
is to roll in autumn leaves
a crush of moss
and the purple
smell of violets,
and your touch
is every dream
realised,
underneath
a nomad moon.

your works go beyond
your works go beyond words...you make all the senses come into play...and you turn simplicity into profoundness which is the trademark of a fine writer :) - alvin

What a stunning poem, Tina. I especially love:
"I cover
your petit infinity
torn between
earth, the planets
and the stars –
your valleys
and your rifts
your rivers
and your hills"
And a Happy New Year to you! Sorry for my absence, I've just been snowed under (not quite literally!) in Durham. But I've completed my application for a teaching degree and have an interview at Durham in February :-) Hope you're well, my dear Tina!
