I lay down in a frozen field
to stare into the night
I never knew a darkness
that shone so clear and bright
An ancient meteor bursts to form
a brilliant shower of light
And fades back into nothingness
to fall out of sight
I watch the universe at work
and sink into the land, as I
Bear the weight of all the things
I'll never understand
So I turn it all to diamond-dust
hanging in the sky
And wonder if it's conscious of
this field in which I lie

Another lovely visual read this PT.
And a ps,
from your tale "...the boy who stands on the hill..." comment.
"...Just got home after dodging meteors on the Mendips..."
I need to keep my eyes open in future.

Star-struck - me;-) Wonderful, quite wonderful, with a touch of pathos.
