I am trying
to balance

the requirements
of doing my job
with
the necessity
of knowing myself

lying awake

as the storm
howls
across the bay

and the acid
burns
my guts

while the old dogs
growl to me
that
worse things happen
at sea

Do you know something Pia? You don't know how close you are :-) My old boat hasn't moved off its mooring since October before last, when I ran out of fuel and was towed in by the lifeboat. But I do most of the admin as moorings secretary and membership secretary for the local "yacht" club. A motley bunch of delightful old seadogs, with a litany of mishaps more interesting the the business of any moorings committee. I last rowed up the river to my little floating shed in June. When the wind and the cold ease a bit I'll man the oars again. It's nice out there. Thank you denni!
