I am crying buckets, and my heart feels like a bubbling soup pot.

I've just watched the most wonderful programme. Ever. 'The Holocaust and my Father'. It's about a Jewish man who discovers a journal written by his (emotionally unavailable) dad during time in concentration camps. The children didn't know he had suffered how and what he did. It was kept buried inside this gentle man until his death.

The son and his siblings step through the places their dad had been, and they work things out together, with tears and laughter. I hope you can watch it. I wish everyone could.

It made me think about all the people on earth who are carrying a heavy load. On the outside, all suited, booted, smiles, but trapped in horrific memories that cause guilt and melancholy. It's the cards you're dealt, l guess. Please watch out/it ..

You should watch it. It looks at the relationship both between him and his children and his children with each other on discovery of this news about their dads bravery and strength. It's like a movie, and the music accompanying it is amazing. I still feel sad hours after watching it xx thanks for the read Dx

Hello Stan .. l'm very sorry you feel sad, and angry. It must have triggered the same for you as it was for me, about my 'sister' and my wee dead-now dad's funeral etc. Gawd. You'll feel kerapp for ages, pal. How very funny you say you are angry at the siblings, as l felt they all had different bones to pick with their dad. They were living with his emotional unavailability, and on discovering how incredible their dad was during his teens in the camps, they can't hold him or tell him they loved him. I know what you mean. All of them reacted differently . Oh, l do hope you are ok. Big hug from me xx
