You Verses...

Will you ever be happy?
Well, the answer is yes
Will you live life ecstatic?
Well, the answer is less
Will you sometimes feel lonely?
Well, yes, I confess:
what you feel when you feel, will be mainly a mess
You'll be mixed up and broken,
then thrust back together.
You'll be lost on an ocean
in all kinds of weather,
You'll be angry and happy right next to each other,
You'll just be the worst! - dismissed as another:
tedious bore... or
cynical witch.. or
underhand cad,
waffling snitch.
They'll sometimes be right
But mainly they're wrong;
To know you takes time
and they won't have that long.
They're only observing the tip of the ice
And under the water is both cruel and so nice.
So if you want my advice,
it's to know ice is meltable
to remember to feel,
when you still can feel feltable.
To see yourself winning
then go out and lose
To continually fail
at whatever you choose,
And one day you'll win
- no fault of your own,
then dismiss where it came from,
think you did it alone
And that's ok too, you know, in the end,
you'll be what you'll be,
And you'll still be my friend...
You know that seemed such a nice way to end too
but it's stupid and crazy, I don't even know you.

I like the sentiments
I like the sentiments expressed in this poem. You seem to know a lot about this person, so it is puzzling the way it ends!

You may not know us
You may not know us individually, but there's a lot of general wisdom here. 'And under the water is both cruel and so nice.' Pretty much.
