Sip the nectar, savour, drain;
feel it seeping through the brain
– mist dispersing, movement oiling,
focusing for fun and toiling.
Diffusing through to every part,
primed to face a fresh, new start:
stretching limbs, with stifled yawn,
duties of a new day dawn.

Really liked this Rhiannonw,
Really liked this Rhiannonw, original and well thought out. I'm not a tea drinker, but this would be what i think of my first coffee of the day!

I love a nice cuppa...Earl Grey, preferably. Really enjoyed your poem, Rhiannon, and am just about to put the kettle on because of it, which can't be
bad;-)

Loved the short poem. I
Loved the short poem. I drink tea all the time, and your description of it was fantastic. My only critique would be that 'focussing', at least in my country, is spelled 'focusing'. But I know this site is based in the UK, and spelling is slightly different there. So if it is a word in the UK I apologize.
Anyway, great poem, and that's coming from someone who does not read much poetry.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Just enjoying my first cup of coffee 6:50 a.m. - but after breakfast I don't drink any more coffee. Tea I have never liked, except sweetened when I am ill.
