I got an invite to a party
from Richard and Sue,
two people I knew
to be arty-farty.
 
It was clear by their hint
they expected coke;
I could say I was skint
or that I was broke
 
but if I didn’t comply
there might be a riot
so I went out to buy
a coke that was diet.
 
They couldn’t accept
I’d dashed their hope
so both of them wept
for the lack of dope.

Yes I know, Rhiannon, it is a simple, and hopefully entertaining, little ditty written mainly for my own amusement but also to keep my brain in gear. In these days of doom and gloom a bit of light relief is needed.
