Undying Beauty

Half light signals
first flush of dawn
unable to move
in hospital ward,
perfect sunrise
shines as canvas
of color brings
tears to my eyes,
sweeping soundlessly
across open sky, my
bed becomes a shrine
flooded with gold,
I become conscious
of never seeing this
sunrise again, rays
of nature's existence,
enduring longer
than humanity,
mounted only by
a window frame.

Made me think that whatever
Made me think that whatever the circumstances, nature never fails to raise our spirits and make us thankful for what we see.
I hope all is well and this is/was not written with the full impact of its meaning and that you do indeed see many more such delights.

A moving poem full of pathos
A poem full of pathos, dear Jenny, with a brilliant description of an emotional awakening in a hospital ward at sunrise. A unique experience in one's lifetime that might not be repeated.
My best wishes, Luigi xx

What a wonderful experience
What a wonderful experience to warm your discomfort and temporary immobility! No two sunrises are the same! gives a great sense of the privilege of 'seeing this one'. Sunsets and rainbows and all beauty of our world to be delighted in. Rhiannon

Jenny,
Jenny,
This is a truly remarkable poem. As usual, your description is like a landscape painting...perfect in every detail. I have always liked your prose work but I think deep down you are a poet.
Tell me Jenny, did all the gang make it back to Obsidium?

Lovely and thoughtful. 'S'
Lovely and thoughtful. 'S' sounds throughout give it a lilting, spiritual flow, reflect the nature of the moment well. Much enjoyed :)
