Spring Leaves Me Cold (IP)

I’ve given up 

on Spring.

Spring can go ahead 

and kiss my ass.

You see, we’ve not

had grass

since last we saw 

the sunshine.

 

I’ve taken up 

with frost.

Frost he loves me and

he makes me chill.

We seem to get

alarming thrills

skinny dipping

when ice fishing.

You've not had Spring either? Ours is just beginning, and annoyingly yesterday - the first day I could honestly say that - the minute I went outside my nose started running like a tap, and I cried until I was back indoors. After such a long wait, it seems very unfair! I hope yours comes soon (and without the hayfever)

It’s all gloom here, Claudia. and we’re getting a bit if snow on Saturday. lol. It’ll be gine before days end. it wears one out.

One of the soggiest 'springs' I can remember - now we're on flood alert here.  

Spring is not in my good books at all.

Ya might say that, LC. Had this tune in my head and I realized it was a somg called Seduced by Leon Redbone. (check it out on youtube) And it is a Craven era tune. I think I may have an actual song in there, buddy. I’ll work on it. Cheers.

Hello Huds,

Great poem. Though I did shiver at the words skinny dipping.  Wish I could say more but got to get the canoe out of the garage.  Still, Christmas is just round the corner.
