Embracing The Storm

Summer storm clouds
appear to weep their
sobbing bouncing off
leaves of trees,
globules released from
dark sky splashing
into puddles like
many fallen tears,
each one creating
a mirror distortion
where birds come
lingering a while,
chasing thirst away
seeking to ruffle feathers,
cleansing wings till again
sun comes out to play.

That's a lovely idea for a poem, I really like the image of birds embracing the storm - they do look like that when they spread their wings and flap the water up! I like watching them having a bath in the big puddle in the drive, When it was dry last Summer our neighbour filled the puddle up with his hose so the birds could have their baths again :0)
Hope everything is OK with you, that you don't have to deal with a storm?

A storm, however brief does
A storm, however brief does seem to bring with it a change of behaviour in our wildlife as well as the palpable change in atmosphere. This is a lovely tribute. I really enjoyed 'globules released from dark sky splashing.' We missed most of the storms last year. I'm in the mood for one now.

I'm so glad the x ray came
I'm so glad the x ray came back saying you don't need another hip replacement. Although it's sort of unhelpful as not explaining what is the problem.
My partner looks after a jackdaw with a broken wing called Chak who we've had 3 years now, I think, this will be her fourth. We have sliding down windows and when he sits with the window open, other jackdaws fly in and out, and even pigeons have started sitting on the edge of the open window :0) In Summer I have the backdoor open and blackbirds are always coming into the kitchen which is very worrying because of the cats
I do hope your hip is better soon

Nice one
Hey Jenny,
I liked that. Beautiful imagery. Also, for some reason I don't really understand, I always enjoy it when someone uses the word, "globule." Great work.
