Where Do Secrets Go?

Close my eyes...Shh!
Secrets hide inside,
diminishing silently
staring back at me,
then – into the abyss
many piled so high,
lost in darkness
long forgotten,
some are
fragmentary,
they're hard
to make out,
like notes
written,
becoming
wrinkled
with time,
on faded
moist paper
dissolving
in memory,
shrouded forever.

I suppose much we once
I suppose much we once thought important can fade, or be buried deep. I think it was Forest who wrote a piece mentioning that we can be told 'secrets' we'd rather not be burdened with – those are probably ones someone finds it difficult to forget though they'd like to.
Sometimes scents or some occurrence can suddenly bring back a memory to recall one had totally forgotten about. Rhiannon

this is great how you make
this is great how you make visual something so abstract, I forgot Well-Wisher's user name yesterday, which scared me. I knew it really but it WAS like groping around in the dark, I had to go to find it physically online. And forgetting words for things, vocabulary getting smaller. You have expressed it so well! And as with all your poems, it is beautuful too
