Variations on a theme

Sometimes I just have to shut the door,
lay down and close my eyes.
Variations on the theme might include
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 1
with those Kubric-style interplanetary soundscapes,
imagined giant windows onto incredible scenes
of slow rotating worlds passed in extended trajectory
of impossible speed, coming-to with a book still in my hand,
it’s Wainwright’s handwritten notes and drawings: Hopegill,
Hobcarton Crag, Grange, Seatoller, Whinlatter, Stair,
and my head goes back, eyes closed again
and I know I can be here or anywhere anytime I choose.
Press Play, Bluetooth to the pretty Roberts radio
and dream everything away.

My type of poem indeed and very inspiring.
Jenny.
