Seventy Two Hours.

Yesterday I was chatting to the Welsh Man at the bottom of our road, the house next door to him was eventually sold recently. We have both seen his new neighbours, he doesn’t seem keen on them, I asked him, “The old lady that lived there, did she move to a care home?” He said, “No she died.” I said, “Oh, I’m sorry, I used to say hello to her, whenever I saw her.” He said, “She had cancer, but didn’t tell anyone, and when her Son found out, it was too late.”

I know, one thing that is sure is death. People can get away with paying taxes, and have done, but death will eventually come to us all. This week, for two days when I saw blood, every time I went to the bathroom. I was alarmed, and decided, silly as it sounds, I wasn’t going to tell my family. I didn’t feel ill, I suppose sometimes you don’t feel pain. I couldn’t remember what light, bright, red blood meant and what dark, red blood meant, but either way, it wasn’t nice. The blood that I saw was dark red.

During those two days I did have something at the back of my mind, I was hoping against hope that I was right, then the evening of the third day the blood went, it was then that I knew what caused it.

Three days before, I’d eaten a lot of beetroot! So, the rest I threw in the bin!

beetroot doesn't come out red, but a good tale, a bit like carrots make your eyesight better.

But I gather beetroot can have that effect on some, and of course carrots are beneficial to eyes, like other foods with vitamin A. Rhiannon

Sunny Delight turns a girl’s skin orange back in 1999. To compound matters further, a four year old girl from Wales that had been regularly consuming up to 1.5 litres of the drink every day, started to turn a strange orangey-yellow colour according to Dr. Duncan Cameron, from Glan Clywd Hospital, near Rhyl in Wales.

Food affects people in different ways. a co-worker can't eat chocolates it makes her have violent headaches. Some people can't eat strawberries, they come out in various marks. Some can't eat peanuts, it can even kill them. 

I only buy beetroot when they are reduced, I love them but each time as an adult I have noticed it makes number 1 and 2 dark red. it IS scary and I keep saying when it happens to ME that I won't buy any more, but months later I forgot and buy it and so it happens again. But this time I don't think I will have anymore. as the FEAR it causes is just not worth it.

It's terrifying to think something is wrong with us- something possibly incurable-this is a very relatable tale- I'm sure many have been there and taken a deep breath- like in your ending- to learn their fear is unfounded and they are after all healthy. The story's lead in to the cause for concern is well written-and the ending perfectly executed.

 We are all different and food affects us all differenty. I am lucky to not be allergic to any food. Ice cold milk which I love ..... does not agree with me, so I drink it if I really want it when I am at home and not at work. ;o)
