A Waiting List

did not exist
I wouldn't be
on the waiting list
for all the things
and services I need.
for my nosebleed
to treat a cyst.
at the dentist persist
an appointment
until at the earliest,
the month of December.
to my oculist,
a great tactician
at changing his title.
(Used to be an optician,
I seem to remember,
but now call himself
an optometrist.)
time passes:
it will be a long time
before I have new glasses.
Playing second fiddle
to the dreaded epidemic
has become a formality,
It's Utopian to hope for
a return to normality.

Oh Luigi, you have written
Oh Luigi, you have written wonderfully how so many must feel! Often problems don't seem seriious enough, but added up make life an uncomfortable struggle. I find it a bit frightening knowing it is so hard to see anyone these days. I hope you manage till December
