On the Ball

Anyone for tennis?
We hear people say.
When Wimbledon starts
everyone wants to play.

Out come the racquets
and the yellow balls.
Keep on practicing
because duty calls.

Time is of the essence
and we must hurry
if we wish to become
like Andy Murray.

We aim to be champions
and, though not just yet,
it will happen soon;
on that you can bet.

We have to continue
bouncing that ball,
over and over,
against the wall.

While hitting, we dream
of making a packet,
then someone shouts,
will you stop that racket?
