Every Dog Has Its Day

Every dog has his day,
that's what they say,
but it's not only canines;
maybe even porcupines
have the chance to shine.
That's absolutely fine
as they have the right
to be in the limelight.
On November the 3rd,
I am told by a little bird
that has come my way.
it's World Jellyfish Day.
This is the very date
they start to migrate
from down there
in the southern hemisphere
to northern shores 
like the Azores.
In the sea, I try to avoid
this marine medusoid;
I dread its painful sting
when I go snorkeling.
I don't wish to celebrate
a mollusc that I hate.
