At Winter's Darkest Hour

Elemental deeds in Winter, see how
luscious green slips away; behold!
Sun sinking low, intense gleam
weakened.
Blown are the desires of summer,
do not lament like raindrops down
window pane...but focus on mystique
of darkness,
watch the flame from a single candle;
pillow head close to gazing moon,
it carries magic after sunset, kindles
creative powers.
Bring to light veiled visions, take
that leap of faith – observe owl after
daytime's blue sky or rain, at darkest
hour will fly again,
through untamed wood or across
deepest valley, with wisdom this
bird will hunt...see all, listen and
tarry.

"...observe owl after

I liked 'luscious green slips
I liked 'luscious green slips away' and 'Sun sinking low, intense gleam weakened'.
As long as we have warmth and artificial light we can enjoy the cosiness of the darkness, and enjoy memories of summer and imagination of the activities of those creatures of the night. Rhiannon
