An Interview with Vincent

I said to Van Gogh
“Hello”, in his right ear
but it was obvious why
he could not hear.
“You have to speak up
I'm hard of hearing”,
he told me and it was
what I'd been fearing.
Could he comprehend
what did I wish to know?
Was it right to call him
Vincent Van Go?
Or should we rather say
Vincent Van Goff?
He stared and scoffed,
“Listen, pal, bugger off!.
The questions you asked
are a definite sign
you're an ignoramus
and a cultural philistine.”
I accused him to be
an ungrateful old fart
and decided it was time
for me to depart,
I don't know about Art
but I know what I like.
I ended the interview
and switched off the mike.

Nice one Luigi
I'm sure that will raise plenty of smiles.
I've had a shorter version in mind for a while:
His name was Van Goff
And he cut his ear off

Shot himself in the groin. Loved reading his diaries when younger.
Nicely done, Luigi.

unkind
Most unkind, with such a tragic life, ridiculing a man like that and really your absolute superior. Usually people would make fun of such a person because they don't understand and have no knowledge not even of his work just saying any old thing careless reckless and gravely insensitive. I object most strongly you are not an example for others.
Talent instantly recognises genius, mediocrity knows nothing greater than itself ".'
Most of us hate any thing we don't understand. Many people would take serious offence is this post really suitable for the internet public domain?
Found your rhymes wildly amusing!! & Nolan
