Shelter For The Weary

Each year I journey through
the seasons where guardians
commune with earth, share
awareness of mother nature's
embrace;
a place where the elemental
is welcome, willing familiars
that bring so many blessings;
even though no words are
spoken.
Area of serenity that's plucked
from the land, I'll show concern
give shelter to woodlice and ant,
garden snails slumber; their
hideaway in green tangle of
shade, a jungle assembled,
not by me – but environments
aid.
I remember when sunlight
came rushing in, blue-tit
flitted down to investigate;
trilling.
“This Structure that should
be my nesting place, nailed
to high trunk of tree, but
instead its here on the ground;
a shelter for the weary...but not
for me.”
Its chorus was heard on that
restful day, but it was only my
imagination before bird flew
away.
Photo is my own.

The seasons are indeed a journey. Our world changes every season but also each day of every season, as each step of any journey might reveal something new.
I like the suggestion that garden snails have found the need to take it easy; to slow down a bit.
Lovely words Jenny... all of them.

I love your macro views, zooming in as with "green tangle of / shade, a jungle assembled". I like watching snippets of lives there, too :0) It is brilliant how you draw attention to these vital creatures
