Transcendental Journey of Meditation

A poem for my night insomnia.
When restless thoughts intrude on sleep,
I would devour diversion; receiving time
with mantra...alert, yet eyes are closed;
my psyche soaring – visions weaving
through autumn's rapture, increasing
moments captured and shared.
I'll follow peaks I have climbed,
impressions awakening memories;
or by chance from meadow...discern
fluttering of summer's perfections.
Wondering what this spirit requires!
Will it be part of fleeting script, where
in inky darkness moon restores beauty;
welcoming night?
Lunar portrays evoking rise and fall
of ocean's shimmering waves that drift
with tide, my inner senses etched in
time; receptive to starry sky – then
by chance, as if in clarity of dream;
floating to some other scene.
Hungering ancient forest calling me;
distant energy of trees outstretched,
towering towards creeping dawn. In
silence of stillness night owl's duty is
almost done; so here I'll stay a while in
contemplation, till soul returns me to
my bed in relaxation.

insomonia seems to be a modern curse, but perhaps not. Night owls are nothing new. Relaxation brings is back to you. Yes, indeed.

From the beautifully crafted words of your poem I get the impression that there's a lot going on in your bed, Jenny, so I'm not surprised you can't sleep.
A very enjoyable read indeed.

Hello Jenny,
Hello Jenny,
From my experience there's nothing quite like a software training course to get me off to sleep but there never seems to be one in the bedroom at three o'clock in the morning.
Your candle concentration plan seems like a good one. I might just give it a whirl next time the insomnia strikes. Knowing my luck I'd fall asleep and singe my eyebrows, or worse.
Sweet dreams!

Dear Jenny, those beautiful
Dear Jenny, those beautiful images that come into your head when you are trying to induce sleep are too exciting to achieve the purpose. Try to think of something more boring like counting sheep.

Night-time can be Heaven or Hell depending on your disposition. Another poem with your deftness of touch and sentiment. Nicely done, of course Jenny.

An interesting look into the
An interesting look into the night time world of wakefulness, Jenny, your psyche soaring beneath those closed eyelids. It does seem to provide a unique gap into more mysterious layers of consciousness, somewhere between proper dreams and lucidity. And like you say, it can be beneficial, as long as you don't get stressed and as long as you don't have a demanding day of work in the morning.
