'A bump of originality'*

In our writing is there
an unexpected twist, insertion,
a catch in the rhythm
a sudden fresh application
the jump that has capacity to change
the line of assumption
grip the attention,
or bring a smile
while
linking to an amusing connection?
As when music composition,
technically clear
following rules of pleasant sound
for ears to hear
attend the flow.
needs a shock, to rock
the attention, an unexpectedness
a spark or bump of originality
(not too much, descending to cacophony)
to take its place of honour, fame,
present as something different,
not just the same
old thing of pleasant relaxing theme,
but an individual, original
to be remembered, respected,
held in esteem.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
When writing I never end up going in the direction I started at. New ideas form and lead me on a new path. Music definitely helps the process. Your poem describes perfectly that many a piece of music, poem or story can be based on themes of old, yet given a new lease of life with a little bit of imagination.
Like the thought behind this I P poem.
Jenny.

There's that lovely rhythm
There's that lovely rhythm again. I like the way this flows, Rhiannon. Nicely done, as ever. Paul
[Is that intentional the way the title is spelt?]

Such an interesting title and exploration - a bump of originality; with just the right timing and effect, a good one again Rhiannon.

That made me think of being
That made me think of being in a car, on a flat road (bit rare these days) then going over a bump which makes everyone a bit more alert and look out of the window. Or maybe a little stone, or stick in the desert, which becomes the base for a new sand dune and eventually changes the landscape
