Escape To Ridgeway

Flashes not bolting
Thunder done booming
Rain no longer popping
Remoteness of peaceful healing
Trail reflective in puddles appearing
Strolling before soft daylight fading
Copse of trees where we're heading
Place of winds forever changing
Verges fringed with green entwining
Inquisitive eyes take pleasure peering
Concealed limbs persist in shivering
Will return when winter's sighing.
Photo's my own

"Place of winds forever
"Place of winds forever changing" your love for this area shines through :0) Have you written of here before, with rooks?
I am glad you are feeling well to write. Is there any news yet about a date for your operation?

Brilliant news about 30th
Brilliant news about 30th October! I am so glad you will have only a few more weeks, and not wait all through Winter, though serious amounts of fluid must be really painful. I do so hope you will be able to go out to feed your birds and speak with your trees before long XXX

I liked your use of rhythm
I liked your use of rhythm and rhyme in this, Jenny. It gives the feel of a brief enjoyd visit, refreshed by a short brisk stroll. Did you get to the hospital yesterday for a consultaion? Rhiannon

I too love the ridgeway, the bits I have walked had plenty of lovely views, historical features and very satisfying to walk on. Trail reflective in puddles appearing, so evocative of this time of year. We've had all the seasons this week. Good news regarding your operation, fingers crossed it will be transformative.
