Bus Pass on a Treasure Island

Once upon a sunny Monday, halfway through the dark forest of Knowspend, Bus Pass threw a wobbly in a manner that Cinderella never would.
“Are we never going to get out of this kitchen? Door-painting! domestic idolatry! What about fresh air and a top deck?”
“Why, Bus Pass”, fairy godmother replied, “I shall grant your wish, with two more besides. You shall go to the ball. Well at least to Portsoy”.
Bus Pass wanted to go to Cullen, with its many fabulous thrift shops, oodles of trinkets, and where the best ice cream lives.
“No, Bus Pass”, fairy godmother warned, “We are deep in Knowspend Forest, so fresh air, top deck views and the hope of spotting the dolphins are your three wishes today”.
Off Bus Pass went, fifteen minutes too early for the bus, so happened to see some lovely books on the charity book shop trolley. With absolutely no thought whatsoever of the deep magic that glisters in Knowspend Forest, Bus Pass nabbed two books for three quid. It was only when pulling on a seat belt, ensconced on top deck, that Bus Pass realised, dark magic was afoot.
Bus Pass decided there was no use crying over spilled spend, and as the £3 went to charity, it was a forgivable oversight. Bus Pass is a romantic.
Arriving at Portsoy, meandering down the beguilingly charming streets, on the beautiful autumn day, Bus Pass completely forgot all warnings of the dangers of Knowspend Forest. The sky was blue, the air, aromatic with sea-minerals, there could be dolphins. Stupefied, Bus Pass was lured, beyond the harbour of the silver screen, into ‘Portsoy Marble’ shop. A gingerbread 18th century granary, twinkling resplendently with mystical crystals and wonders from the deep dark earth beneath Knowspend Forest.
£20.30 later, Bus Pass was unrepentant.
