Summit

We’re hosting this years summit, G20 that’s its name
Attended by world leaders, Prince Philip thinks they look the same
They’ve agreed a new consensus to rebuild confidence and trust
It’s a global economic down turn don’t blame Brown for boom and bust

There’s unemployed and students, amongst others protesting in the street
All looked after by our police force, we’ve taken bobbies off the beat
We live in a democratic country were everyone has a voice
I’m now thinking that depends on what you’re saying, be careful with your choice

Now I’m reading what I’ve written and can’t believe it’s fact
We’ve a prince who puts his mouth in gear with very little tact
We’ve a man called Gordon Brown who must be the joker of the nation
If our country was a company we’d be put in liquidation

I believe in law and order however with democracy comes free speech
This is not a gift from government, it’s what my granddad died for on that beach.
They’ve spent millions on the summit they’ve all been wined and dined
With all the country watching, do politicians not think we mind?

Politicians squandering our money, hiding each and every perk
They fiddle their expenses, while Gordon increases the tax of every man at work.
I watch politicians on the t.v. giving speeches, hale and hearty
As I look in from the outside, no wonder it’s called the Labour PARTY!
