The bed Kimberley slept in was old, but the mattress was new and it made of the new memory foam. The sales man was right it was extremely comfortable, and it fitted perfectly on her new bed. Which was great after the day she had just had,her dad had come home and he saw the broken vase which Kimberley now had to pay for, and he had laughed at her when Amy told him of Kimberley's story about how the vase broke and how her dress had disappeared. Her bed was very inviting and Kimberley dived into it hiding beneath the covers.
The next day Kimberley got up at 7am, she brushed her teeth and hair in her en suite bathroom. She got changed into a grey skirt, white blouse and she put on some black dolly shoes ready for her first day at her new school. It was September and she had already missed the first week at school so she could move into her new house first. She walked slowly down the steps and entered the kitchen where her dad and Amy were talking and eating there breakfast. Kimberley got out a new bowl and poured some cereal into it, she added milk before getting a spoon and sitting down. “first day of School, Kimberley” Amy said. “Yay” Kimberley said her voice full of sarcasm. “just make sure you're not late” her dad grunted. Kimberley looked at the clock she had ten minutes before the bus came to pick her up. Kimberley's dad had made special arrangements that the bus was to come and pick her up at the bottom of the driveway. The bus came past her house and she was too far away to walk to school or to the next village to wait for the bus with all the other students. When Kimberley had finished her lunch she got a sandwich from the fridge and a bag of crisps from the cupboard. She ran upstairs to put the things into her bag, she also put in her mobile, keys and her pencil case. She walked slowly down the stairs and out the door. She cut across the grass weaving between the trees she finally rejoin the driveway and followed it to the road where she sat on a bench waiting for her bus. The bus arrived a few minutes late, which had caused Kimberley to worry as she couldn't see it coming. She climbed onto the bus and found a pair of seats free which she claimed, sitting next to the window and resting her bag on the seat next to her. A boy popped up behind her he was obviously younger than her it was his second year at the school. “are you the new girl” he demanded. He looked her up and down his black curly hair bounced as he moved his head. “um, yeah” Kimberley muttered. “Get lost Ben. Sorry about him he just doesn't know a thing about manners or personal space” a girl said to her. She was the same age as Kimberley and had black straight hair. “I'm Nathalie, you're in my form so you can come in with me if you want” the girl carried on saying. “yes please” Kimberley pleaded. “no probs” Nathalie said. Nathalie undid her seat belt crossed over the isle, she moved Kimberley's bag onto the floor. Nathalie started to talk and ranted on about unimportant things. It took fifteen minutes to get to the school. The school was an old building and there was a concrete playground out at the front of the building and a massive field at the back. “come on” Nathalie said grabbing her arm. Nathalie led her down the corridors and up a few sets of stairs, they stopped outside a door where a few people were waiting, Nathalie led her to a group of girls. “hey, this is Kimberley. She's the new girl” Nathalie said. There were five girls and all introduced themselves. “hi I'm Abbie” a girl said she had blonde hair and was quite tall. “I'm Tiffany, it's so nice to meet you” this girl was a brunette and was fat. “I'm Lorrie” said a tall thin girl who had dyed red hair. “I'm Meg” said a blonde girl who was surprisingly shorter than Kimberley. And the last girl who was taller than most of the boys walked forward. “I'm Katie” she said, she was the only one to hold out her hand for Kimberley to shake. At that moment a female teacher came along and unlocked the door. “OK everyone lets go inside” the teacher said. Everyone stopped what they were doing to grab their bags and walk inside. Nathalie caught Kimberley's arm and pulled her inside and sat her down on a table next to her. “OK everyone, we have a new student with us to day” Kimberley looked at Nathalie and Nathalie mouthed a sorry to her. “so everyone give a warm welcome to Kimberley, oh and I'm Miss Henley” the teacher said, pointing her hand toward Kimberley before pointing at herself. As Kimberley was sitting on the back row it made it easier for everyone to turn around and get a good look. Miss Henley turned her attention to the register. After that was finished a boy in front of Kimberley turned around. “hey are you living in Rove house?” he asked. At that point everyone all turned around again to stare at her. “um yeah, why?” Kimberley said she could feel her face going red. “seriously, you're living there” a brunette girl exclaimed. “is it true it's haunted” the boy in front said. “haunted?, I don't know I've only been there for one night” Kimberley stuttered. “I don't think anyone has told you have they?” Nathalie said. “told me what” Kimberley said, she was starting to feel slightly uncomfortable, she generally wouldn't have believed what they were saying but after what had happened when she was unpacking she wasn't sure what to think. “Rove house use to be abandoned and no one had gone in there for years with the exception of a few drunk teenagers, however about five years ago this new couple came along and did the house up but after about three months they left suddenly, no one knew why. Anyway they put the place up for sale, and a year later this retired couple moved in they settled in and they were really nice and the old lady couldn't even hurt a fly. Six months later the old man goes missing so they search the house and they find him tied up in the attic with his throat cut open. They arrested the old lady and the place went up for sale. Every time someone moves in that house they either leave or quickly or they get their throats slit open” Nathalie said with all seriousness in her voice. “so have you seen the ghost at all?” the boy in front asked. “um...” Kimberley said. “OK everyone time for lessons” Miss Henley shouted. Everyone turned to grab their things and Kimberley followed Nathalie out the classroom feeling slightly spooked.
