I've had enough,
wanting out!
Heaven, Hell?
Nothing I hope.
Ether!
Done my bit,
done enough,
done all I can;
done my time!
Mistakes?
Fuck, yes;
so many,
so many...
Blameless?
Fuck, no
but the punishment,
should fit the crime.
Blame?
What's the point?
The nameless know,
Let them suffer their gods.
Apathy.
Huge black clouds,
mists of melancholy,
blinding me;
no light!
Keep fighting?
Why, what for?
Love conquers all?
No...it does not!
Tired, so very tired.
Candle burned down;
flickering,
nearly out;
just need...
a willing breath...

Very intense and moving poem, Chris. I love these lines:
'Blame?
What's the point?
The nameless know,
Let them suffer their gods.'
The short line structure works so well to give this poem an edge. Well done!
