Mustard Seeds

And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say to this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it shall obey you, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
- Luke 17:6 & Matthew 17:20
Faith and religion are not the same thing. One thought, an idea could be a mustard seed and accomplish the seemingly impossible, even like a tree throwing itself by command into the sea and walking on water and other such miracles.
A guy once challenged me to walk on water in order to prove to him the existence of God. As if a circus trick. My friend I have no desire of proving of anything to you and I believe neither has God. I know I can argue 'till I'm blue in the face I'll get nowhere.

Even without any real factual proven and documented events of supernatural healing, many are not easily discouraged of the practice of faith healing at will. However I am convinced that this practice too is for the most part a form of deceit.
It is a matter of reality and delusion. Those I've known who actually attempted such things were in fact psychotic and their efforts to absolutely no avail, of such as a tree throwing itself by word into the sea or physically moving a mountain by "faith" alone and other attempts at miracles and instances too of this "faith healing".
Indeed in the example of the experiment of the tree and so on those I've known that really believed and tried this kind of thing were in fact insane and met without any success whatsoever. Yet still they firmly believed it. Strangely these people did not become discouraged in the least and just commanded the more and more renewed vigour and intensity with each of the individual's fruitless repetitions.

Obviously the verse cannot be taken as literal, and when so believed it must be misleading and even delusional. No. Jesus could have only meant this as symbolic. One must always be very careful not to wrongly understand things as literal and then also to read out of context. It is not an achievement.

One idea at its time is a mustard seed and can be a breakthrough. In contrast to feats such as walking on water and calming the sea great achievements are not from any instantaneous supernatural acts, no, great accomplishments of humanity are rather a matter a visionary imagination and hope, courage perseverance and patience.
One spark may become wildfire. An idea a spark a whisper can set alight the mighty tongue of flame and roaring devouring fire of passion. An idea can bring insight it might bring hope it can unify a people, save a soul a country and even nations. Such as are the symbols of a cross, a rainbow and a new dawn.
Faith is a living hope and a trust of truth and the future and things unseen. An idea at its time is a mustard seed of faith and will grow and thrive and prosper.
