Original Sin

It's said that Adam
was involved in
what is known as
the original sin.
But some people
firmly believe
that Adam was
assisted by Eve.
Both found guilty
of being in pursuit
of a particular
forbidden fruit.
That fruit was
(we must acknowledge)
the acquisition
of a certain knowledge.
To know all about
good and evil
was bound to create
a cultural upheaval.
The powers-that-be
were intolerant
and wanted the pair
to remain ignorant.
So they ruined
their reputation
and condemned them
to eternal damnation.
I would say
in the couple's defence
that what they did
was not an offence.
They should instantly
be exonerated
and the guilty verdict
eradicated.

poison tree
Never thought of it this way but yours reminds of Blake's "A Poison Tree", or Snow Wite for that matter. But who knows maybe it got boring there, you know after a few centuries. Joking aside, as a very serious matter was the very first sin and disobedience, the first people having known (done and experienced) both good and evil, shame and deception, both love and lust, joy and jealousy.
See you Luigi! Nolan &
