Stuff

Jeff Bezos has all my money (allegedly). He owes me an invitation to the wedding at the very least. I must have paid for the buffet in books alone. Emma Bridgewater has a fair whack too.
Suffice to say, it’s Spring, the time has come to dust and sell stuff.
I love having stuff. Looking at it, wearing it, reading it, drinking tea out of it, not dusting it. Stuff is fabulous.
However, two rooms have Manhattan Islands of books on the floor. Books which simply must be released to entertain other minds. I won’t tell you how many tea pots I have (because I don’t actually know). Trigger warning: horrible cousin broke my doll’s teapot lid when I was four. It was real porcelain. I have been saving all the teapots ever since. It’s important work.
Anyway, I have been planning to make webuybooks.com’s financial year by posting them boxes of stuff for the small fee they'll pay. Trouble is, I pick up a book and think ‘Nope, can’t let that one go’, or ‘I forget how this one ends, a quick re-read down the beach’. It’s not an efficient methodology.
DVD sales are currently on hold while I watch every episode of ‘True Blood’ to check if I want to keep them or not. (I didn’t at first but it reeled me back in, the music, the jokes, the naffness, Eric, what’s a gal to do?).
Meanwhile, the spare room is full of empty boxes, mostly from Jeff, waiting to fulfil their destiny and wing stuff elsewhere.
A box a week! Ruthless as a ‘True Blood’ vampire, sucking the book blood out of the whole of Manhattan. It will be a purge Anne Rice herself would be proud of. I may never see the light of day again.

I will join you on the way
I will join you on the way too many books bench Purple. A cull is most definitely needed but I've only managed a few so far as it has to be agreed by my family committee (adult sons who don't live at home). I inherited all my parents' books and I suppose my sons will get mine plus those. Eventually our houses will sink into the ground. Something Must Be Done!
