Fixating on Fiction

Fixated on fiction, my favoured writing choice,

eclecticly reading when finding my voice.

Stealing ideas, phrases, expressions, 

stylisticly shifting in discursive sessions.

Spectacular vernacular, dialect intact, 

Slurring and blurring, of fiction and fact.

Genres and tropes, the meta the better, 

horror/sci-fi/rom-com, read to the letter.

Cyberpunk, and hyper drunk 

on words like Dylan Thomas, 

I often wonder if what I've learned

will yet fulfill its promise.
