Omar's Diary for Tuesday 15th March 2016 - Cheltenahm Selections and eBay

The weekend passed uneventfully. I like uneventful as it means that any routines I have are undisturbed by the vagaries of unannounced house guests arriving, trying to poke and stroke me and generally disrupting domestic harmony.
Once again I have to apologise, I seem to be doing a lot of that lately, for the lack of regular diaries. It is just that my two retained servants have been somewhat distracted by the hunt for Lady Servant’s new saddle. I do not understand why it is so difficult to find a suitable one but I guess that is the Servant species, they have so much choice that they cannot make a choice.
The hunt for the saddle ended earlier today when Lady Servant put in a last minute, last second bid on eBay to clinch the purchase. I still have to marvel at how easy it is to achieve consumer gratification at the click of a mouse. For the sake of those of you with sensitive feelings I will not explain what click of a mouse is gratifying for me.
Hopefully the saddle will arrive all the way from Aberdeen early next week. Lady Servant did say to Man Servant that it was nice to finally have a saddle that will fit horse. Lady Servant also said that the whole buying process through an online auction was also fun as well. Lady Servant mentioned that she could see how other members of her species could become addicted to this sort of online activity.
I wonder if it is possible to bid for yellow bananas on eBay? This is a strong hint that I need a new one with fresh catnip. I am not addicted but I need it NOW!!!
Speaking of addictive behaviours, gambling on horses can be very addictive amongst the servant species.
Not wishing to lead any of you into temptation but seeing it is the Cheltenham National Hunt Festival this week I have researched a couple of races taking place on Wednesday and am prepared to put just a very small part of my weekly kibble allowance on the following two horses:
Race Time 1450 (note the use of the very precise 24 hour clock)
No 6 Arbre De Vie (Each way)
Race time 1530
No 10 Une De Sceaux (To win)
Perhaps the house guest from two weekends ago could translate what these names mean as I don’t think Man Servant is bilingual. He cannot even speak feline.
There are two caveats with these selections. The first one is that if they win then I am quite prepared to take all the credit for showing great skill but if they lose I will deftly pass the responsibility over to Man Servant. The second one is that these selections are only for fun so if they are not for fun then that is the time to stop,
Good luck everyone.
