UNDERSTANDING IS HARD FOR HER

She can't understand why you've left her.
She doesn't know what she has done wrong.
She thinks that something she said or did,
Has resulted in you being gone.
Of course, you would smile and tell her,
That it's not her - you love her dearly,
And that you wanted to hug her more.
But now you're in a place she can't be.
And so, Jim struggles to try to find,
The right words to tell your six year old,
Why you're now with a man who hates kids,
And why your love for Jim became cold.
But Jim will continue with his best,
To love your child like she's his own.
For though her mother's old life has died,
He'll make damn sure love still lives at home.
