The atmosphere created here conjures up a vivid image of the painting and the mystery of the girl herself. It's very good. Could this be the girl with the cherry earrings I wonder.

Having read it a few more times I see it also captures the relationship between the artist and his moment of inspiration. So even better than I thought.
