The Pole star, the Queen of Heaven’s head,
Sunburst light by stained glass,
Painted by shadows,
Her crown colouring in gold.
One slipper holding up air,
The other snake foot.
The devil hissing in the glaur,
Caught up in the flow of blue,
Peeking out.
I peek in.
Pennies for the plate, prayers and penance.
The devil’s in the glare,
No longer framed.

Wow. I go away for a while and you've turned into a poet. Maybe it's the water. Very good this - rather fine run of alliteration at the end (in proper celtic style).
