"Magnum Crapus": On Failing a Masterpiece

I have tirelessly tried to write "Schism" over and over with each rough draft accumulating like a misers towering shit pot of gold. To no end and avail have I even remotely gotten close to getting it to that magical spot we writets call "just right" when all this cluster fucked story fits together and we down that last shot of bourbon to releive our severe pain stabbing at the joints in our restless fingers. Reality check dearest friends, nothing is right when a writer looks at his work. Like seeing a fat chick in a speedo it is most unnatural for a writer to be satisfied, albeit except for Edgar Allen Poe, with the end result of our writing projects. But when it comes to our ultimate Magnum Opus we vehemently stand protesting blindly that its too damn good for the dumbed down common man to understand. A Magnum Opus is suppose to be our best work. The purest piece of gold in a fuck ton of failures. Yet for some odd readon when this project is finished we still beat ourselves up for the pitiful sake that some how and some way it was suppose to be better this way or that. In my opinion, this is a huge goddamn misconception we use as a crutch to degrade ourselves and our past writing endeavors. Why have one Magnum Opus? Why cant there be more than just one epic story we consider the best in the lot of groveling alleyway bitches? Easy, a writer can never have peace and solace for anything he/she writes no matter how hard they bust their balls over. We strive to outshine everyday and every way. If thats not something your in to, then save your sanity and throw away your pens or toss that laptop out the window. No rest for the wicked is nothing compared to what a writer struggles with day in and day out. I've got to ask, writing friends, are you in it to win it? If not then shy the fuck away. If yes then always remember failure is a greater teacher than success and expect to screw up alot down the road; thats the secret of making your writing utterly relatable and memorable.
p.s. Fuck Magnum Opus, your doin ok doing!!
