Accommodating

I never asked you to be in my head,
You're just there.
I never set a limit on your presense,
And now you've flooded everywhere.
I asked you into the doorway,
And you became the estate.
I asked you to answer me,
And you became my brain.
I asked for just a little warmth,
And the equator came to me.
Well I never asked to be so lucky.
You're in the food I eat,
You're in my tea.
You're somehow This movie,
You're sound on the street.
Maybe these things just remind me,
Of this love that I'm accomodating.
How did I function before?
How did I think at all?
By myself, I'm not by myself,
Even when I'm alone,
I'm carrying you along.
You made it through
Every layer to the bone.
I never asked you to be inside my head,
Now I need you out.
So I can let the real love in.
So I can feel good again.
So I can cleanse this poison.
