as the most intelligent species
it is our right
to destroy this planet
we are the only creatures here
to have self awareness
and understand concepts
such as right and wrong
justice, fairness, responsibility
we know we are superior
because we have language
so can communicate this
knowledge of threats
make plans to avoid them
not like other animals
victims of our success

Very true Di_Hard, especially the observations on language and communication. Some times we forget why we are "superior" and also that the devastation can still be stopped even turned around. There is much to be saved, salvaged.
Your poem is very popular well done!
