The high tide washes over the muddy swamp
Concealing sand crabs and oyster-encrusted rocks
Yet I still see the murk
Knowing how the mangrove roots appear at low tide
How the oysters are revealed and the crabs scuttle
Sifting mud to sand
The difference between high and low
Is only a moon’s moment away
Pulling, jabbing
And drawing me towards the deep
There is no clear view as the water and mud blend
Carrying me away in my little lonely canoe
Afraid to be caught in a whirlpool
To be swallowed
Scared stiff to drown in these depths
not knowing how to swim
in this moving stream

I can see what seashore means, you've caught the visual and the feelings when in the place. Swimming would be difficult there even with a life belt I should think. Is this from Australia?

with so many great images, but also quite a
frightening experience, I can imagine.
Thankyou for sharing.

This reminds me of an unspoiled stretch of the Jamaican coast we spent a couple of days exploring in 2009, Pia. Aah, memories.....
